At present, Argentina is positioned among the main mineral reserves worldwide, a condition that makes it attractive for mining investments in the short term. Furthermore, the mining sector is strategic in Argentina and constitutes the seventh largest export complex in the country. Exports in 2020 exceeded USD 2.6 billion. Argentina adheres to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). The Strategic Plan for Argentine Mining Development proposes an inclusive, competitive, integrated and sustainable mining industry. The Mining Investment Law offers tax stability to those registered in the regime for new ventures and expansions.
